Moonlight

A documentation of creatives with multi-hyphenated careers. Shot on their days “off”, moments of precious rest that can be hard to come by in their busy lives, we explore each individuals experience using photography, writing and often aspects of their own creative work.

An on going project looking at gaining a wider understanding of people who, like myself at the time, juggle multiple different roles in order to support themselves in this current economic climate. Spending time with each individual caused me to confront my own bias of believing that everyone is aiming to leave their “struggle jobs” in pursuit of a singular creative career. My time with each multi-hyphenated, multi-faceted creative, showed me that most aren’t looking for a singular role in the creative industry but thrive in the spinning of plates that their many hyphens allow. Each pursuit feeding into another and allowing them space to grow.
